The fun part of exploring beyond this city, "tour bus" style, is deciding how to cover all the rest independently in the next 24 hours! Last evening we enjoyed a lovely wine-filled sunset dinner cruise with new-found friends along the Spree River, noting a variety of architectural styles, since much of Berlin has been rebuilt from the ground up.
The Pergamonmuseum and Neues Museum topped our list this morning, displaying ancient treasures from Babalon and Egypt. Lunch in a popular cinema neighborhood with longtime friend, Brian, who lives and teaches English here, provided lively discussion of topics significant to Germany at this time.
This afternoon we took a guided walking tour of the Kreuzberg neighboorhood, initially established in the early '60's by Turkish immigrants, and now very ethnically eclectic. Our "dogs" are tired!
